The Big Idea:

Introduce families to the concepts of food sources and nutrition through inquisitive play. This project was a re-design of the exhibition, including signage, environmental graphics, physical exhibit structures, finishes in the room, and teaching tools.

Design work:

Exhibition aesthetic, signage, environmental graphics, and interpretive graphics.

WHERE FOOD IS FARMED

This piece simply illustrates where food is farmed in the United States, highlighting the regional area of the Carolinas. The map was fabricated in-house with a CNC router and stained to indicate the different agricultural regions of the country. The icons were fabricated out of house and applied to laser cut wood labels.

Signage and exhibit components

I designed the signage system for the Town Market. I used colors and patterns to identify each area of the store. I worked with our exhibit designers and fabricators to determine how the signs should be constructed and incorporated into the physical exhibit components.

Interpretive Graphics

Graphics directed at parents and educators to help provide scientific context to the experience.
